April 2012 was diving wise a nice month with nearly no wind and excellent diving conditions. Not as many manta rays though as last year, but there have been some sightings at Koh Bon. Weather wise it was ok, but only 10 fully sunny days, and 5 overcast days and 14 days with some rain during the day. It was also a bit cooler than normal, although at the end of the month the temperature has creeped up.
The wind has shifted from East to West a bit earlier than normal, influencing diving conditions at especially Kata Beach. Here on two days we were not able to dive, and on four days visibility was (almost) nil after heavy rains the evening/night before. At all other destinations diving was possible every day of the week.
